last monday, UTP Alumni Society had had their meeting on some agendas. their? ye la, because i wasn't able to attend due to kelas silat, sorry ye kengkawan.. some of the planning being discussed is to have a Fund-Raising Dinner somewhere in mid-April. so, they decided on appointing the committee members to ensure on the smoothness of the program arrangement. aku yg x dtg miting pun turut dilantik plak jadik ahli komiti! huhu.. dan seperti biasa, mmg dari dulu aku asik wat keje ni je - PROMOSI!! ape? muke aku ni mmg muka promosi ke? haha.. sengal betul~ my team leader is alin, and my team-mate is noreen. some of noreen's suggestions on promoting the event are (according to noreen's mail):
1) Mail promotion
2) Promo thru letters - which include a phamplete, a formal letter tellingthem what our objectives are & etc.
3) Website (so ppl can log on to it n read what is it all about)
4) X-fresh (as u suggest)
5) Radio & paper promo - but shud know the cost kan?
6) banner (as u suggest)
7) Posters
and from noreen's suggestions, alin had appoint me to complete some tasks by weekend since our next meeting will be on monday, which i can't attend too because i'll be havin' silat class.. my tasks are (accoring to alin's mail):
1) E-Mail promotion - this will go through alumni email database. anattachment or just plain text is needed. - action: noreen

6) banner (as u suggest) - to be put at UTP entrance and also some other places that is suitable (somewhere is Ipoh or Lumut) If we calobrate this with MERCY, might be worth it to put one at their office/building. - come up with design and place where it can be made cheap - action: sarah
7) Posters - all need to think of a design. either A4 size or A3 size. noharm done if we come out with 3 different design. its even better that way. variety sikit...
so, yesterday, i decided to surf on ERA and HITZ site since dua-dua tu adalah kinda main stream kat malaysia, walaupun radio swasta tp aku rs most of us are listening to these channels, right?? bukan ke? hehe.. from the site, i just choosed on a staff of era and hitz to inquire on the pricing if we are ought to advertise this kind of event on air. so this morning, when i looked up at my mailbox, seelan of era radio replied and asked for my number so that he can contact me to discuss on this matter. few minutes later, the phone rang, and the number appeared was 03-95438888 <-- nombor stesen radio era la ni, hehe. seelan paul telipon aku la pulak, hehe.. so, he told me that a 20-30 seconds (lebeh kurang la) of advertisement for around 5 times a day for a whole week will cost around rm10,000! heh, giler ah dingdong~!! name pun fund-raising dinner, takkanla nk kuarkan wang sebanyak tu just to inform the alumni members to attend kan, hehe.. unless kalo mmg committee really really sure yang dinner event ni pasti akan membawa pulangan yg sgt besar, so x salah kalo spend that amount for promotion. tp, bole ke? mcm x je.. huhu~ tp tu la, sbnrnye, aku pun x berapa faham sbnrnye sape target audience, i mean, target peserta utk dinner.. they are proposing on inviting the UTP cancellor and the president of MERCY as the VVIP for the event. isk, susah gak ni x gi miting, tp nk wat camne.. deme ni suke benor pilih hari yg aku x leh gi, saje je tau.. hehe..
i really hope event ni akan bergerak lancar. kalo perancangan teliti, insyaAllah everything will be good. so rakan-rakan bekas pelajar UTP sekalian, ayuhlah menyahut seruan ini.. mohle ramai ramai dtg ke Fund-Raising Dinner. untuk Alumni UTP dan untuk MERCY malaysia skali~ ayuh~!!!
